Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder and Chairperson of BRAC has been awarded the first WISE Prize for Education in recognition of his “40-year career dedicated to alleviating poverty through education.” The Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani handed over the award to Sir Fazle at the World Innovation Summit of Education (WISE) in Doha on 01 November, 2011.

Paying rich tribute to Sir Fazle the Chairman of WISE said that he (Abed) innovated and implemented successfully a new method of education in Bangladesh and expanded in other countries of the world.
